Field notes

DayZ Badlands

DayZ Badlands is the paid Nasdara expansion for DayZ. The purchase adds the province. Update 1.30 also changes bikes, some weapon reskins, and the official-server wipe in the base game.

Buy or stay

Nasdara is a separate purchase, app 3816030. Owning DayZ, app 221100, does not unlock the province.

Bikes and a handful of shared 1.30 changes still appear off Nasdara. Read the two lists below before you spend.

With the expansion

  • Nasdara, an arid-spring terrain of 267 km², called the largest official DayZ terrain the team has made.
  • Mud and stone houses you can restore, plus wells and irrigation tunnels in the launch count.
  • Sandstorms, the new sickness names, Morse on the personal radio, and the Nasdara animal list.

On the base game alone

  • Jana 50 and Bitrak 682 still spawn away from Nasdara, in smaller numbers.
  • Some firearm reskins and inventory icons from 1.30 are shared.
  • You do not receive the Nasdara terrain itself.

Frostline is a separate purchase. Badlands and Frostline are also sold together as the Hot & Cool Bundle. Official servers cleared characters when 1.30 went live on 15 October 2026.

Which app you are buying

DayZ Badlands is app 3816030, a Windows expansion for DayZ, app 221100. Mac and Linux are not part of that build. Install the base game, then the expansion, before Nasdara loads.

On Steam the price is $24.99, discounted to $22.49. The same ask is also given as about $24.99, and the 10 percent launch discount as about $22.50. Regional prices can differ. Xbox and PlayStation prices have not been announced. The split is on the price and platform notes.

What 1.30 shares with everyone

The 15 October 2026 wipe cleared characters and bases on official servers across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. A survivor who never buys Nasdara still meets the new bikes and some shared weapon reskins, and still does not walk the new province.

The road in runs from the 27 June 2025 reveal, through Update 1.29 on 15 July 2026, to experimental 1.30 on 16 September 2026, then the 15 October release. On PC, stable 1.30 Update 1 is version 1.30.164078. The dates are on Update 1.30.

Where to read next

Nasdara covers 267 km² of arid spring, beside autumn Chernarus, summer Livonia, and winter Sakhal. Ruined houses take logs, a trowel, or sheet metal, and the code lock runs on a charged V9 battery. The Jana 50 moped does about 70 km/h, and the Bitrak 682 enduro does about 130 km/h. Start with Nasdara, then Rebuilding and Motorbikes.

What the purchase includes

DayZ Badlands is app 3816030, a paid expansion for DayZ, app 221100. Owning the base game does not unlock Nasdara. The expansion adds the province, its houses, wells, irrigation tunnels, and the animals tied to that terrain.

The expansion shipped with Update 1.30 on 15 October 2026. On PC, stable 1.30 Update 1 is version 1.30.164078, released the same day. Official servers wiped characters on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Frostline remains a separate purchase. Badlands and Frostline are also sold together as the Hot & Cool Bundle. The Steam price is $24.99, discounted to $22.49. The same price is also given as about $24.99, and a 10 percent discount as about $22.50. Compare the bundle with two separate purchases before you pay twice for weather you wanted together.

What still changes off the province

Jana 50 and Bitrak 682 spawn away from Nasdara as well, in lower numbers. A survivor on Chernarus, Livonia, or Sakhal can still find a bike without buying the map. The bikes are one rider each, with no passenger seat and no cargo.

Some firearm reskins and inventory icons from 1.30 are shared with the base game. The SCR-17 Battle Rifle arrived in Update 1.29 on 15 July 2026, with a black Sakhal variant, two buttstocks, and a magazine, so it is not a Badlands exclusive. Nasdara military convoys were already running on Chernarus and Livonia in that July update. A convoy on an older map is not the new province.

The first experimental build after launch is for Steam modders, with a stable release after that test. The navmesh format changed, and old navmesh does not load, so terrain authors regenerate it. Walking a stock town does not use that step.

Which note answers which question

Nasdara is the 267 km² arid-spring terrain: autumn on Chernarus, summer on Livonia, winter on Sakhal. At a ruined wall you want logs, a trowel, or sheet metal. The code lock stays shut only while its V9 battery holds a charge. A dead battery opens the door.

The moped is the Jana 50, about 70 km/h, in fixed blue, red, and yellow, inspired by the Jawa 50/05. The enduro is the Bitrak 682, about 130 km/h, inspired by the Jawa 500 682 Bitrak, with mixable red, yellow, green, and blue plates and left, right, and front shields. Both carry one rider, with no passenger seat and no cargo. Repair is a blowtorch and a spare tire, not a car battery.

Nasdara animals include the mouflon and its pelt, Dobermann and German shepherd dogs in four variants each, a territorial desert monitor with meat and skin, and the fish round goby and catfish. The dogs cannot be tamed, and packs are tied to military zones. The illnesses are heatstroke and silicosis, also written Heat Stroke, Sillicosis, and Irritated Eyes. Morse on the personal radio leads to underground shelters, and the access codes stay inside those transmissions.
