Field notes
Morse code signals
Morse code signals on the personal radio lead to underground shelters.
What to listen for
Morse code signals on the personal radio lead to underground shelters.
Those transmissions carry coordinates and access codes for urban bunkers. The code is in the signal.
What the player actually does
Tune the personal radio and follow the Morse toward a shelter. That is the loop. No tone chart, dot-and-dash table, or town-by-town frequency has been announced.
The transmissions carry coordinates and access codes for urban bunkers. The code you hear is the one to use. No fixed code list has been announced.
Terrain holes, not only Nasdara
Underground facilities use terrain holes. The same system is available for other maps and for modders, so a shelter entrance is a terrain feature, not a one-off prop.
The Morse shelter lead ships with the price and the launch of the expansion. Weapon and item rumors that travel with bunker searches belong on the firearms roster only when the weapon is actually in the 1.30 set.
What the personal radio is for
Morse code signals on the personal radio lead to underground shelters. That is the use of the system. The signals are not a dot-and-dash chart you can copy. No such chart has been announced.
Launch transmissions carry coordinates and access codes for urban bunkers. The coordinates and the codes stay in the transmissions. Listen in game, then travel. A static table is not the feature.
Underground facilities use terrain holes. The same hole system is available for other maps and for modders, not only for the Nasdara bunkers. A bunker you reach by radio is still a hole in the terrain, so infected pathing depends on the new navmesh. If you are placing a shelter as a creator, regenerate that navmesh before you test the entrance. Survivors only need the personal radio, the Morse lead, and the code in the transmission.
- Personal radio Morse leads to underground shelters.
- Transmissions carry bunker coordinates and access codes.
- Terrain holes are the facility system, also for other maps and modders.
How to act on a signal
Treat a signal as a lead you still have to travel. You need the access the transmission gave you. Rebuilding tools do not open a bunker by themselves, and a bike only shortens the ride.
Sandstorms and Irritated Eyes can interrupt the trip. Rinse with water before you rely on a long ride toward a shelter. The sickness names are heatstroke and silicosis, also written Heat Stroke and Sillicosis. The signal and the hole are the rest of this system.
Update 1.29 already ran Nasdara convoys on Chernarus and Livonia from 15 July 2026. A convoy is not a Morse marker and not a bunker entrance. On an older map, a convoy does not mean the October shelter signals are active there.
Creators and the hole system
The hole system is for modders as well as for the official bunkers. The first experimental patch after launch is aimed at Steam modders, with stable to follow. If you are waiting to test a terrain hole on a workshop map, that is the window.
Navmesh in 1.30 has no backwards compatibility. Regenerating it is the requirement. A shelter you can reach by radio is still a navigation problem for infected and for AI, and the format break is why old terrain data does not carry forward.
Antenna ranges, frequencies, and a sample message have not been announced. The facts you can act on are the Morse lead, the transmissions that include coordinates and codes, and the terrain-hole system shared with other maps.
