Field notes
heatstroke and silicosis
Nasdara adds sandstorms, scarce water, and three sicknesses. Heatstroke and silicosis each have a second spelling.
Names to watch
The illnesses are heatstroke and silicosis, also written Heat Stroke, Sillicosis, and Irritated Eyes.
After a sandstorm, rinse sand from your eyes with water. No other cure has been announced.
Sickness names
- Status Heat stroke
- Status Sillicosis
- Status Irritated eyes
Dust and water
Sandstorms are a Nasdara hazard. Gusts of wind can build into large storms. The practical step that ships with them is the eye rinse: water clears sand after the storm. No clothing insulation table and no well map have been announced for this climate.
Scarce water is part of the same climate. No bottle count has been announced. The rinse is the one specified use. Extra drinking rules beyond that rinse have not been announced.
Why two spellings stay
Sillicosis and silicosis are one illness under two spellings. Heat Stroke and heatstroke are the same split. Irritated Eyes is the name for sand in the eyes. The matching instruction is the rinse, not a second disease title.
A search for heatstroke and silicosis is the shorter pair. The row list keeps the third name, Irritated Eyes, so the dust status is not dropped to match the shorter headline.
Two spellings for the same threats
Heatstroke and silicosis are the medical threats that arrive with the province. The same illnesses are also written Sillicosis, Irritated Eyes, and Heat Stroke. Both wordings are real. A search that only accepts one spelling will miss the other.
Irritated Eyes is sand in the eyes. Rinse with water after a sandstorm. Sandstorms are a Nasdara hazard, so this status is tied to that weather rather than to a generic DayZ cold.
No duration, damage per second, or cure item beyond the rinse has been announced for these three. The useful facts are the name pair and the water rinse. Medicine stacks and thermometer steps from older maps are not restated as if they were re-tested for Sillicosis.
- Heatstroke, also written Heat Stroke.
- Silicosis, also written Sillicosis.
- Irritated Eyes: rinse sand away with water after a sandstorm.
What to do while you are affected
If a sandstorm just passed, deal with your eyes before you start a brick repair or a bike chase. Gusts build into large storms on Nasdara, and the rinse is the response that comes with that weather. Nearly 5,000 rebuildable structures include wells, so water for the rinse is part of the same province as the dust. Building steps and bike speeds do not change because you are blinded. The Jana 50 and the Bitrak 682 still do about 70 km/h and about 130 km/h whether or not your eyes are clear.
Heat Stroke and heatstroke are the same threat under two spellings. A hot arid afternoon on Nasdara is the setting. No new temperature number has been announced.
Sillicosis is the other spelling of silicosis. They are not two diseases. If a later patch separates them, that split would be new. Until then, treat them as one illness with two labels.
Systems that stay on other notes
Morse, town coordinates, and bunker codes are a different system. Radio signals carry coordinates and access codes, and those codes stay in the transmissions. Sickness and signals share the province and nothing else.
Dogs, the monitor, and the fish are not disease vectors. The wildlife list keeps their pelts, meat, and the taming rule. Do not add a bite infection just because a Dobermann has four variants.
The code lock’s V9 battery can open your base when it drains. It is not a treatment for Heat Stroke. A dead lock is a building failure, not a medical status.
